Play Bingo Games - Quick Guide on Playing Bingo
If you’ve ever enjoyed bingo, you know that it’s a pure game of chance where
you can lose a string of rounds and at any given moment see your luck change
and win big. Bingo is uncomplicated and overall fast moving, which makes
it appealing to a wide variety of people who visit their local bingo hall
or casino.
The game of bingo involves the calling out of numbers to a large hall of
people. Each person has at least one bingo ticket that is dotted with some
of the numbers that are called. If a number is called that’s on a player’s
ticket, they mark it. As soon as they have the required amount of numbers
covered on their ticket, the player lets the room know that they have bingo.
Basic Elements
There are 90 numbers in bingo. Just before a game starts, the caller
makes the announcement “eyes down.” The caller then starts calling the
numbers, which are typically chosen by an electronic Random Number Generator
(RNG).
As the numbers are drawn one at a time and announced by a caller, players
mark off the digits that they have on their tickets. A standard bingo
ticket is composed of a grid with nine short columns and three long rows.
The numbers are arranged sequentially in the nine columns. The first column
is for 1-9, the second for 10-19, the third for 20-29 and so forth. The
ninth and final column is used for 80-90. A total of 15 of the 90 numbers
appear on each and every ticket.
Each ticket includes 15 blank spaces. Lines, which have nine spaces, contain
5 numbers and 4 blanks each. Columns typically have one or two numbers
but some will contain three. Tickets are purchased in various quantities.
There are sheets or flyers, which are single pages with six tickets printed
on them. Single books of 10 tickets may be bought and multiple books,
which contain six single books, are also available. Players who buy tickets
in bulk save money.
How and What You Win
Bingo offers three different ways to win. Prior to the start of the game, players will be informed concerning which of the three types of games they are playing. The three kinds of games are:
- One horizontal line covered (five numbers)
- Two horizontal lines covered(10 numbers)
- Three horizontal lines covered/full house (15 numbers)
As the caller announces each number individually, players mark the numbers with a dauber, which is a liquid pen. Typically, bingo players compete for cash prizes. One-line games tend to offer smaller prizes with the multi-line rounds carrying bigger payouts. When a player has bingo, they immediately inform the room by shouting out. Often they will call “bingo” or “yes.” They may also say the name of the specific game they are playing such as “house” or “line.” It’s important that a player informs the room immediately that they have bingo prior to the calling of the next number. If the next number is called and then they announce that they have won, the player’s ticket is often invalidated. If the claim of bingo is made in a timely manner, then a casino worker validates the ticket and the prize is awarded.
Winning Techniques
Bingo games last around three minutes with the numbers being announced at a steady but easy to follow pace. This is a game of chance, which means that results are arbitrary. However, there are various techniques you can employ to enhance your chances of winning.
- The more tickets you can play per game, the better your chances of winning. Play as many tickets as you can without losing track of your numbers.
- As numbers are announced, keep your eyes on your tickets, scanning then thoroughly.
- Make sure that your marker is ready to go and able to function properly. Bring a backup with you.
- If you use multiple tickets, it’s best to have a logical system for checking them. This will help ensure you don’t miss any numbers.
- Check all tickets after each number is called and pay special attention to any that have one number remaining.
- Take a moment to rest your eyes between games and to stretch. There will be breaks but give yourself some extra, short ones. Look off into the distance and close your eyes for a few moments.
